One week in Oahu is definitely enough time to cover the island and still feel like you’ve seen a decent amount of what it has to offer. It’s pretty easy to find things to do especially a little help from Trip Advisor and Google Maps but it definitely helps when you have friends or family to visit. Filtering through all of the options can be exhausting and it certainly made our lives easier having the help of my brother and his wife who were living in Kaneohe.

But a group vacation can be also a challenge. The more people in your group the harder it can be to find things to do that everyone loves or match the travel experience pace of others. There were definitely things I wish I did on our visit but I still had a blast relaxing and adopting the island mentality… which is challenge for a New Yorker like me.

3. The North Shore Tour

Of course saving the best for last, the North Shore was hands down my favorite part of the trip. My semi skeptic side always creeps up whenever people rave about something and the North Shore was something, everyone boosted about. Right away I had set my anticipation level to a minimal so I wouldn’t be underwhelmed from my expectations.

Well, that inner skeptic was wrong again. The magic of the North Shore is real and it is amazing.
